Two Stories of Sisterly Love

#1 The other night I went to check on the girls one last time before hopping into bed and this is what I found...

I asked Maya in the morning how her sleep was and she said, "it was good because I slept in Desire'e's bed." I asked her why she didn't sleep in her own bed and she responded by saying, "Desire'e's bed is more comfortable." I guess being smashed up next to her sister gives her comfort :).



#2 As you may all ready know, Maya starts kindergarten this year, and so that means she was due for a kindergarten check-up with her Pediatrician. I sort of told her about what they were going to do in the check-up before we went, other than the undesired shots that happened at the end. I waited till we were in the office to reveal that to her, needless to say she wasn't to thrilled about it. Desire'e went with us to the appointment. While Maya was getting her shots I held her hands and Desire'e patted her on the head. Maya was crying, and I was trying to comfort her while Desire'e offered some soothing words. She said, "Did that hurt you Maya?" with a very concerned tone, and then "aww, I'm sorry Maya," and then gave her a big hug.

There are some other little interactions between the two of them that prove to me they really do love each other, even though they may have a few or many brawls through out the day. I love them both so much, and hope they keep that sisterly love alive through the many days they have together ahead of them.
